About Media Bezirgan

Media Bezirgan is an independent investigative journalism platform founded and operated by Abdusselam “Mocha” Bezirgan. Based in Alberta, Canada, Media Bezirgan is committed to uncovering corruption, exposing extremist networks, and holding powerful institutions accountable—without fear or favour.

Unlike traditional media outlets that often operate within partisan or corporate constraints, Media Bezirgan is funded entirely by voluntary viewer support. This independence allows us to follow the facts wherever they lead—whether in the streets of Canadian cities, inside courtrooms, or across international borders.

From breaking exclusive reports on political scandals to documenting extremist activity across North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania, Media Bezirgan has built a reputation for fearless, high-impact journalism that corrupt and complacent institutions can’t ignore.

Our work has been featured, cited—and in some cases, stolen—by major media outlets, but our voice remains unapologetically our own. Our non-partisan track record is a source of pride. We have no agenda but the truth. In an era of lawfare, disinformation campaigns, and threats, we rely on people like you to remain a steadfast pillar of democratic accountability.

Editor in Chief

Born in Istanbul and raised in the ghettos of Toronto, I now call Calgary home.

At 18, I began producing strategically crafted short films that subtly exposed government manipulation in Turkey, reaching millions of viewers.

As the political climate intensified, I returned to Canada to pursue formal education in broadcasting.

"I’ve learned that the most valuable things in life are often intangible."

My career began in video editing and production, but I quickly advanced to roles in reporting, recruitment, training, and strategic advising within several Canadian media organizations.

By the end of 2022, it became clear to me that most media outlets had become partisan, prioritizing political narratives over public interest.

In response, I founded Media Bezirgan—an independent platform committed to exposing corruption and dangerous alliances across all sides of the political spectrum.

We report the news that matters regardless of which political party's interests it may go against.

Our Work

We are proud to have brought public attention to matters impacting Canadians.

We reported extensively on the “Coutts 4” trial in Lethbridge, Alberta—often as the only court-accredited media present.

The four men stood accused of conspiring to murder police officers. While advocates saw the charges as politically motivated, most media outlets distanced themselves from the case.

We stayed—reporting not only on the legal proceedings but also on the voices of the public and their expectations of elected officials.

In the end, a jury of their peers acquitted all four men of the most serious charge: conspiracy to commit murder—the very charge that led most outlets to avoid covering the case from the start.

The news should be reported even if the demands of the people may not be in the best interest of their representatives.

We also reported on Amarjeet Sohi, former federal Minister of Infrastructure and current Mayor of Edmonton. Our investigation published exclusive documents and recordings indicating that Mr. Sohi’s brother, Harkesh Sohi, his campaign manager Harbajan Pandher, and several of his election donors were owners of Whiterock Ventures—a trucking company that received upwards of millions of dollars in municipal contracts during Mr. Sohi’s tenure as a city councillor.

The company was also involved in the multi-billion dollar federally funded Regina Bypass Project during Mr. Sohi’s time as federal infrastructure minister.

Public records show Mr. Sohi did not disclose his relationship to his brother in relation to these dealings.

We also noted Mr. Sohi’s past imprisonment in India during the 1980s, where he was detained under accusations of terrorism—charges he has long denied, describing himself as a political prisoner.

Despite our efforts to obtain comment and provide balanced reporting, Mr. Sohi has declined to meaningfully respond to our inquiries and has since initiated a defamation lawsuit against us.

In relation to the Regina Bypass Project and the Gordie Howe International Bridge Project, we interviewed Canada’s leading authority on extradition law, Dr. Gary Botting (PhD in Law and PhD in English), to discuss corruption and whether the United States could have legal standing to extradite Canadian politicians whose alleged corruption affects U.S. interests, corporations, and citizens.

We reported extensively—and often exclusively—on the Khalistani movement, delivering unmatched depth and international coverage across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand.

From confronting “Dr. Khalistan” about his questionable medical degree from CETEC, a foreign institution shut down for selling diplomas, to challenging Babbar Khalsa affiliate Santokh Singh Khela—who was previously sentenced to life by a Canadian court for conspiring to bomb an Air India flight departing from JFK—our investigative journalism has consistently broken new ground.

Our on-the-ground reporting has exposed the movement’s glorification of violence and convicted terrorists, including the suicide bomber who assassinated Punjab’s chief minister and the killers of Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

We also examined the central role of the World Sikh Organization—widely regarded as the movement’s umbrella group—and mapped its growing influence across all major political parties in Canada.

Our on-the-ground work continued in spite of death threats, violence, and online disinformation campaigns.

We reported without regard for political interests—whether it was an ostrich farm facing a federal cull order despite appeals from U.S. health authorities to preserve healthy birds for research, or Ontario farmers resisting municipal and provincial efforts to expropriate their productive farmland.

Our journalism brought national attention to allegations of municipal corruption across Canada, including in towns like Gibbons and Empress, Alberta.

We held no partisan loyalty—reporting critically on Justin Trudeau, Pierre Poilievre, Jagmeet Singh, and Danielle Smith alike, whenever the public interest demanded it.

Truth, honesty, and fairness have remained central to every investigation. This includes our reporting on Conservative Deputy Leader Tim Uppal’s brother, whose drug and firearms charges were dropped twice, despite co-accused individuals receiving jail time.

We also revealed that Uppal and his wife—a lawyer for the department of justice—shared a residential address with the accused family member during those proceedings.

We do not flinch in the face of power. And as long as we have the backing of the people, we never will.

We continue to be a servant to public interest, and hold powers accountable regardless which colors they wear.

Your support remains crucial to continue our mission to stand strong whichever way the winds may blow.
