Media Bezirgan App Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 22, 2026. Last updated: October 22, 2026.

The short version

The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We don’t sell or share your information. We only receive what you choose to send us: a tip, an alert choice or a newsletter signup.

What stays on your phone

Stories you save (text and photos), your text size, your recent searches and similar settings are stored only on this device. Deleting the app removes them.

What the app requests from the internet

To show stories, the app loads our RSS feed, story pages, images and search results from mediabezirgan.com. Like any website, our host (Wix) receives standard request data such as your IP address. Search runs on your device: the app downloads the text of our published stories from our Wix site and keeps a copy on the phone, so your search words are never sent anywhere.

Videos

Videos play in YouTube’s embedded player, run by Google. When you play a video, YouTube may collect information under Google’s privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).

Email you send us

If you report a problem or send a tip by email, the message goes from your own email app to pr@mediabezirgan.com. We use it only to respond and to report. Ask us at the same address to delete it.

Tips sent in the app

If you send a tip with the in-app form, your message (and contact details only if you choose to add them) is stored in a private database on our Wix site that only our newsroom can read. We use it only to report and to reach you if you asked us to.

Alerts

If you turn on alerts, the app saves an anonymous push token from Apple/Expo and your choice (a story, a topic or all stories) in a private database on our Wix site. It contains no name or email. We use it only to send the news alerts you chose, through Expo’s push service and Apple: an automatic alert when we publish a new story (all news or your topics) and when a story you follow is updated, at most one per story. Between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Mountain Time we hold alerts and send them together after 7 a.m. News alerts never contain marketing. Turn alerts off in the app or in Settings at any time.

Newsletter

If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email address, the time and the consent wording you agreed to in a private database on our Wix site, and use it only to send the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time, or ask us to delete it.

How long we keep it

Push tokens: until you turn alerts off or Apple reports the token is no longer valid. Newsletter signups: until you unsubscribe, then only a record of the unsubscribe. Tips: as long as our reporting needs them, then deleted.

Where it is stored and how we protect it

Tips, alert choices and newsletter signups are stored in private collections on our Wix site that only our newsroom can read. Wix may store data on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible under local law. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the privacy commissioner as the law requires.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, including your newsletter email. We reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, Alberta’s Information and Privacy Commissioner or, in Québec, the Commission d’accès à l’information.

Payments

The app does not take donations or payments of any kind.

Children

The app is a news app for a general audience. It isn’t directed at children and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
