"The official opposition waits until it's too late, and then they start to talk about it," reasoned Wycliffe. "I'm building the messaging now, making the noise now to build the case against Bill C-63," he added.
Bill C-63, referred to as the Online Harms Act, is proposed legislation aimed at regulating online speech to prevent harmful content, but critics argue it could severely restrict free speech in Canada.
I asked Wycliffe how it feels to fight on his own.
"I mean, it's tough because it's kind of like David versus Goliath, right? Because the major news industry, they have the reach," he said, adding that by using humor through his parody videos and songs, he catches the average Canadian's attention to raise awareness about Bill C-63 and other issues.
