“People try to call us radicals, but our existing immigration policy is radical,” said Greg Wycliffe, a board member of the Dominion Society, the organization behind the demonstration.

He argued that Canada’s immigration system has shifted far beyond public consent. “There are going to be millions of expiring visas in Canada, and we’re expecting these people to just kind of leave on their own,” he said, pointing to a lack of adequate enforcement of existing immigration laws.

He described Canada as being treated “like a bus stop” or “an all-inclusive hotel,” saying the lack of boundaries and clarity around immigration and national identity is a national security threat. “We already have an immigration policy and a points system, we’re saying it needs to be recalibrated to be self-respecting, because our social services are being exploited.”

Rejecting accusations of radicalsm, he stated, “That’s not radical. That’s self-respect. That’s loving ourselves and loving our nation.” According to Wycliffe, remigration is about “reversing the flow of immigration” and prioritizing Canadians, warning current levels are “not sustainable.”
